This medium-bodied wine comes from an area in Umbria just a little northeast of Rome. It is comprised of 60% Sangiovese, 35% Barbera (unusual in Montefalco), and 15% Sagrantino where it gets is full floral, wild herb, earthy spice and wild cherry flavors. Balanced with a long graceful finish of ruby red grapefruit, cherries and a kiss of earth, it’s a classic wine at a great value.
